Enabling Creative Learning through Cross-Disciplinary STEM Activities
Site: Cloister La Merced – University of Cartagena, located in the historic center next to the Teatro Adolfo Mejía (Teatro Heredia) Cra 4th x Calle 38 (see map)
Time: 14:00 – 18:00
When doing cross-disciplinary STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) activities in the classroom, it is important to provide students with an engaging, hands-on experience that enables them to explore their personal ideas around the core content areas. As such, both the design of the learning environment and also the curricular sequencing itself is important to keep the students focused while simultaneously offering them the opportunity to express their own developing knowledge. This hands-on workshop will not only present examples of this from a variety of classrooms leveraging a multitude of tools, but offer participants a chance themselves to experience the process of creative learning through generating stop-action movies around STEM concepts.
